How to use eCatalog
Welcome Course Admins
The eCatalog was designed with you specifically in mind by reducing the amount of work you do while expanding your reach. This site is for both online AND face-to-face workshops which are listed in two formats: listings and calendar. There is nothing you need to do to have your workshops listed in the eCatalog besides entering the offering into Protraxx. To get them entered into the calendar you need to do one thing.
To add your course to the listings in eCatalog
Just enter them in Protraxx. By putting them in an OCSAE department, they’ll automatically appear in the eCatalog. Be aware that the target audiences has been reduced to 6-7 distinct roles for searching purposes. Use the subtitle line to identify a specific teacher group or principal group. Ex: Audience selected: Teachers. Subtitle might read: 8th grade teachers of Regents math. DO NOT LEAVE SUBTITLE BLANK though — it will be noticibly missing with a hanging comma.
To add your course to the calendar in the eCatalog
On the Activity Class page, select the new button in the middle of the page “Send Outlook Invite”. Enter the email address “ocsae@schools.nyc.gov” and within the workshop will appear in the calendar. If you change the date, use the UPDATE button to modify the invite. If you delete the offering, use the DELETE button to erase it from the calendar. This feature will add it to both the upcoming events listing and the main calendar.
To add an article highlighting an offering
If you’d like to write a feature article to highlight an upcoming pd, special speaker, or event, you can email your article to elearning@schools.nyc.gov after you’ve gotten all the approvals you need (your Director, Dr. King). You may attach an image to the email to be included. All font formatting will be erased — plain text only.
