As a result, our department has partnered with the Education Development Center and created, the Building Online Capacity Institute, a free nine-week facilitated course that runs until March, which helps and trains PD providers to deliver and create online professional learning opportunities for their constituents. NYCDOE staff from various central offices and networks have designated up to forty-two members from their staff to serve as Online Curriculum Coordinators for each cohort. This will allow them to turnkey blended PD courses. In addition, participants from each cohort receives ongoing support from EDC staff, as well as routine follow-ups from eLearning staff to ensure that the course is tailored to, and aligned with each office professional expectations and goals. Participants also receive a free, two-day training in Captivate, a leading training software, along with a two-hour training in Articulate via Webex and much more! For more information about the institute and other professional development learning opportunities that we offer, contact Jacquii Leveine at jleveine@schools.nyc.gov
